No “Clew” Is Too Small…

Site Premise

In early November 1969, Zodiac mailed a rambling 6-page letter to the San Francisco Chronicle. Among other things, it described the general nature of his criminal activity. In one passage, he altered the spelling of the word “clue”.

In the same letter, he goes on to say:

By his own admission, he intended to confuse and mislead his pursuers by planting red herrings and offering false statements. (Was the admission itself a false statement? Considering the “holes in your head” insult, odds are it wasn’t.)

Zodiac’s self-titled “fake clews” are at the core of this site’s basic premise: there’s more to his words and diagrams than meets the eye.

Shake-The-Earth.com believes this is an under-explored angle, and approaches the case believing Zodiac’s correspondences were riddled with innuendo, doublespeak, purposely-misleading details, and hidden imagery. Conversely, he possibly left some clues in plain sight all along.

It is further theorized that many of his “mistakes” were not due to sloppiness or being a simpleton (two attributes commonly ascribed to the killer). Rather, there are legitimate reasons to suspect he designed many unusual elements with underlying intent.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

Many of the above items appear multiple times across Zodiac’s writings, indicating they may have been part of his MO rather than happenstance.

Shake-The-Earth.com examines Zodiac’s correspondences through an alternate lens – one that offers novel explanations for the scattered “clews” he left behind.
